TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69

David Complains Of Great Distress

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:1

  1     ^¶  To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, A Psalm of David. Save me, O YAHWEH; for the waters are come into my soul.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:2

  2    I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:3

  3    I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: my eyes fail while I wait for my Sovereign Ruler.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:4

  4    They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: they that would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:5

  5    O YAHWEH, YOU know my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from YOU.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:6

  6    Let not them that wait on YOU, O Sovereign YAHWEH of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek YOU be confounded for my sake, O YAHWEH of Yisrael.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:7

  7    Because for YOUR sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:8

  8    I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to my mother's children.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:9

  9    For the zeal of YOUR house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached YOU are fallen upon me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:10

  10    When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:11

  11    I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:12

  12    They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.

And Begs For Succor

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:13

  13     ^¶  But as for me, my prayer is to YOU, O YAHWEH, in an acceptable time: O YAHWEH, in the multitude of YOUR mercy answer me, in the Truth of YOUR yeshua.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:14

  14    Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:15

  15    Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:16

  16    Answer me, O YAHWEH; for YOUR lovingkindness is good: turn to me according to the multitude of YOUR tender mercies.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:17

  17    And hide not YOUR face from YOUR servant; for I am in trouble: answer me speedily.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:18

  18    Draw nigh to my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of my enemies.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:19

  19    YOU have known my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion: my adversaries are all before YOU.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:20

  20    Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:21

  21    They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

He Declares The Judgments Of YAHWEH

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:22

  22     ^¶  Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their shalom, let it become a trap.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:23

  23    Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:24

  24    Pour out YOUR indignation upon them, and let YOUR wrathful anger take hold of them.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:25

  25    Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:26

  26    For they persecute him whom YOU have smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom YOU have wounded.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:27

  27    Add iniquity to their iniquity: and let them not come into YOUR righteousness.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:28

  28    Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:29

  29    But I am poor and sorrowful: let YOUR yeshua, O YAHWEH, set me up on high.

He Concludes With Joy And Praise

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:30

  30     ^¶  I will HalleluYah the NAME of YAHWEH with a song, and will magnify HIM with thanksgiving.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:31

  31    This also shall please YAHWEH better than an ox or bullock that has horns and hoofs.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:32

  32    The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek YAHWEH.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:33

  33    For YAHWEH hears the poor, and despises not HIS prisoners.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:34

  34    Let the heaven and earth HalleluYah HIM, the seas, and everything that moves therein.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:35

  35    For YAHWEH will save Zion, and will build the cities of Yahudah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 69:36

  36    The seed also of HIS servants shall inherit it: and they that love HIS NAME shall dwell therein.
