TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57

David Begins With Prayer And Complaint

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:1

1     ¶  To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O YAHWEH, be merciful to me: for my soul trusts in YOU: yes, in the shadow of YOUR wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:2

2    I will cry to YAHWEH most high; to the ALMIGHTY that performs all things for me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:3

3    HE shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. YAHWEH shall send forth HIS mercy and HIS Truth.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:4

4    My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of adam, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:5

5    Be YOU exalted, O YAHWEH, above the heavens; let YOUR splendor be above all the earth.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:6

6    They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have dug a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

He Concludes With Joy And Praise

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:7

7     ¶  My heart is fixed, O YAHWEH, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:8

8    Awake up, my splendor; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:9

9    I will praise YOU, O Sovereign YAHWEH, among the people: I will sing to YOU among the nations.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:10

10    For YOUR mercy is great to the heavens, and YOUR Truth to the clouds.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 57:11

11    Be YOU exalted, O YAHWEH, above the heavens: let YOUR splendor be above all the earth.
