A Promise Unbroken

Yahweh has promised good to me,
His word my heart secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

 Other refuge have I none,
Hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave me, O leave me not alone,
Still support and comfort me.

 When those around me are unseen,
And my future is unsure;
Be with me, Stand beside me,
And with you I will endure.

 Yahweh has placed a shield on us,
That no one can tear down;
Though wind may blow and thunder roll,
Our strength in that Rock will be found.

 Yahweh has been a shield to us,
His promise to us was a token;
 Though some promises are not kept at all,
This is a promise unbroken.
