The Significance Of The Mercy Seat Of YAHWEH

What does the mercy seat of YAHWEH stand for in relationship to the "Ark Of YAHWEH"? Right away, in the beginning YAHWEH in the wilderness set up the mercy seat. When YAHWEH talked to Moshe HE instructed him in the building of the tabernacle. There were some significance things about the order of the building of the tabernacle. YAHWEH spoke unto Moshe concerning building the tabernacle in Exodus 25:2 Speak unto the children of Yisrael, that they bring ME an offering: of every man that gives it willingly with his heart you shall take MY offering. Notice that the offering must be with a willing heart.

Mercy seat Of YAHWEHs ark of the Covenant YAHWEH Moves Upon The Hearts Of The Ones That HE Wants To Give

There is a parallel in the New Covenant where YAHSHUA is talking to the Scribes and Pharisees. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the Torah, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone. The saints gave everything to build the tabernacle and it was only by YAHWEH moving upon the hearts of those ones that HE wanted to give.

YAHWEH Equates Gold With Faith

The ark of YAHWEH, which is the base of the mercy seat, is made out of wood covered with gold. There is a crown, which is a border around the top of the box made of gold. Everything is made of gold which represents purity and it is the only metal  that does not get corrupt by air and that you can beat it out. One ounce of gold can be beat out into a surface area of about 50 by 80 feet. It does not tarnish and the purer the gold it is the more you are able to bend it. Gold represents faith, as many times in Scriptures YAHWEH equates it with faith. We as gold are beaten and molded into shape by YAHWEH with the rod of correction. Now if you, as gold, are not pure, you become hard. The world adds impurities to gold to make it hard, but we should become pure that we can be molded and shaped in YAHWEH's image.

The Mercy Seat Is The Covering Of The Ark of YAHWEH

The Ark of YAHWEH is a vessel in which to carry something and the mercy seat is the covering of the ark of YAHWEH. The mercy seat is pure gold. Not wood overlaid with gold, but pure gold. There are two cherubim, one on each side, that arch over with their faces looking down toward each other, down on the mercy seat. They each have four wings which completely cover the mercy seat. Each cherub was one piece of gold without any joints. They had to take one piece of gold and beat it and mold it to make the cherubim.

We Are Blessed When YAHWEH Shows Us Mercy

The mercy seat is a covering and a school master unto us to make us realize that we are sinners so that conviction starts working. It makes us realize that we are condemned and on our way to hell. Then YAHWEH comes and shows us mercy. We are blessed when YAHWEH shows us mercy. Aaron was the first high Kohen (priest) and he offered the blood as YAHSHUA offered HIS blood to cleanse us from our transgressions

We Are The Tabernacle Of YAHWEH

The tabernacle was not complicated or ornate, but simple and all the components of it are in us. The outer covering is our flesh and we are the tabernacle of YAHWEH. It is a patent and a shadow of what should be in us. When we are saved the first thing YAHWEH does is write the Covenant, the Commandments in our hearts. We can see the parallel of the wilderness, the natural, in our own hearts and we should be able to progressively see the growth of our stages in our being.

Mercy Worketh By Judgment

The Ark of YAHWEH represents the Law of YAHWEH and the mercy seat represents YAHWEH's throne. YAHWEH spoke judgment from above the mercy seat in between the two cherubim. We know that mercy worketh by judgment. You have got to have judgment in able to show mercy. One who has been shown mercy rejoices at judgment. Judgment is the only way that we can return unto righteousness. Tehillim (Psalms) 94:15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

And when Moshe was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with HIM, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and HE spake unto him.
