Warnings Against Disobedience, And Promises Of Mercy To A Remnant
DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 4:24
24 For YAHWEH your ABBA is a consuming fire, even a jealous
YAHWEH.
25 When you shall beget children, and children's children, and you
shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves,
and make a graven image, or the likeness of anything, and shall do
evil in the sight of YAHWEH your Sovereign Ruler, to provoke HIM to
anger:
26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you
shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto you go over
Yardan river to possess it; you shall not prolong your days upon it,
but shall utterly be destroyed.
27 And YAHWEH shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be
left few in number among the heathen, where YAHWEH shall lead you.
28 And there you shall serve gods, the work of sons of Adam's hands,
wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29 But if from thence you shall seek YAHWEH your Sovereign Ruler,
you shall find HIM, if you seek HIM with all your heart and with all
your soul.
30 When you are in tribulation, and all these things are come upon
you, even in the latter days, if you turn to YAHWEH your Sovereign
Ruler, and shall be obedient to HIS voice;
31 For YAHWEH your ABBA is a compassionate Sovereign Ruler; HE will
not forsake you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of
your fathers which HE swore to them.
32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you,
since the day that YAHWEH created Adam upon the earth, and ask from
the one side of heaven to the other, whether there has been any such
thing as this great thing is, or has been heard like it?
33 Did ever a people hear the voice of YAHWEH speaking out of the
midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live?
34 Or has YAHWEH assayed to go and take HIM a nation from the midst
of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by
war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great
terrors, according to all that YAHWEH your ABBA did for you in Egypt
before your eyes?
35 To you it was shown, that you might know that YAHWEH HE is
Sovereign; there is none else beside HIM.
36 Out of heaven HE made you to hear HIS voice, that HE might
instruct you: and upon earth HE shown you HIS great fire; and you
heard HIS words out of the midst of the fire.
37 And because HE loved your fathers, therefore HE chose their seed
after them, and brought you out in HIS sight with HIS mighty power
out of Egypt;
38 To drive out nations from before you greater and mightier than
you are, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance,
as it is this day.
39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in your heart, that
YAHWEH HE is Sovereign in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath:
there is none else.
40 You shall keep therefore HIS statutes, and HIS commandments,
which I command you this day, that it may go well with you, and with
your children after you, and that you may prolong your days upon the
earth, which YAHWEH your ABBA gives you, forever.
The Cruelty Of The Princes, And The Falsehood Of The Prophets
MIKAH - MICAH 3:1
1 ¶ And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Yacob, and you
princes of the house of Yisrael; Is it not for you to know judgment?
2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin
from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off
them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for
the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
4 Then shall they cry to YAHWEH, but he will not answer them: he
will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved
themselves ill in their doings.
5 Thus saith YAHWEH concerning the prophets that make my people err,
that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that puts not
into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
6 Therefore night shall be to you, that you shall not have a vision;
and it shall be dark to you, that you shall not divine; and the sun
shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over
them.
7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yes,
they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of YAHWEH.
8 ¶ But truly I am full of power by the Ruach of YAHWEH, and of
judgment, and of might, to declare to Yacob his transgression, and
to Yisrael his sin.
Their False Security
MIKAH - MICAH 3:9
9 Hear this, I pray you, you heads of the house of Yacob, and
princes of the house of Yisrael, that abhor judgment, and pervert
all equity.
10 They build up Zion with blood, and Yerusalem with iniquity.
11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the kohenim thereof teach
for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they
lean upon YAHWEH, and say, Is not YAHWEH among us? none evil can
come upon us.
12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and
Yerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the
high places of the forest.
The Unwise Rebuked
TEHILLIM - PSALMS 94:7
7 Yet they say, YAHH shall not see, neither shall YAHWEH of Yacob
regard it.
8 Understand, you brutish among the people: and you fools, when will
you be wise?
9 HE that planted the ear, shall HE not hear? HE that formed the
eye, shall HE not see?
10 HE that chastises the heathen, shall not HE correct? HE that
teaches sons of Adam knowledge, shall not HE know?
11 YAHWEH knows the thoughts of sons of Adam, that they are vanity.
The Vindicated
TEHILLIM - PSALMS 94:12
12 ¶ Blessed is the valiant warrior whom YOU chasten, O YAHH, and
teach him out of YOUR torah;
13 That YOU may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the
pit be dug for the wicked.
14 For YAHWEH will not cast off HIS people, neither will HE forsake
HIS inheritance.
The Benefit Of Judgment Realized
TEHILLIM - PSALMS 94:15
15 But judgment shall return to righteousness: and all the
upright in heart shall follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand
up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Unless YAHWEH had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in
silence.
18 When I said, My foot slips; YOUR mercy, O YAHWEH, held me up.
19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me YOUR comforts delight
my soul.
20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with YOU, which
frames mischief by a statute?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the
righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 But YAHWEH is my defense; and my Sovereign Ruler is the Rock of
my refuge.
23 And HE shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut
them off in their own wickedness; yes, YAHWEH our ALMIGHTY shall cut
them off.
